It's time to turn the channel to TBS and take a peak at how a whole other world of wrestling was operating. Or should we call this... "NOT growing up NWA". It's the first televised special for Jim Crockett Promotions on TBS. Join us as we explore the lead up through some of the World Championship Wrestling broadcasts. We got the "Express" tag teams, the Road Warriors, Dusty, Flair and and an appearance by Willie Nelson. An American staple released on the 4th of July... what could be better?

Saturday Night’s Main Event V, March 1st, 1986

It's the lead up to Wrestlemania II! Hogan defends against Muraco and gets a large surprise thanks to the Weasel and the British Bulldogs make their SNME debut and show why they are the greatest tag team of all time (maybe). There aren't any costume or mother's day parties but we do get the debut of the Real American video and the Slammy's!

AWA Starcage, April 21st, 1985

The LWO podcast uncovers a forgotten or perhaps overlooked gem... the AWA's Starcage 1985. This super card from St Paul's featured a triple main event. Join your hosts as we revisit the AWA in the spring of 1985. We cover the lead up to this non-PPV event by looking at some cool house show matches in January and March that set up this themed show. Experience the thrills of Curt Hennig nearly being decapitated and see what happens when a crowd tries to attack the Road Warriors! We also feature an awesome title match between AWA Champ Rick Martel and his arch rival Nick Bockwinkel. It all culminates with an awesome cage match between Sgt Slaughter & Jerry Blackwell vs the Sheik and his army.
