The NWA is back on tap; the US Tag Titles are front and centre as a defence against the Midnight Express leads to an unexpected face turn. Things come to a head within the Four Horsemen as an outsider crosses the line. We follow Ric Flair to Japan and some of his matches from this period. The show is book ended with another US Tag Title defence. Geoff tells his story of meeting the Macho Man and the mailbag returns to draw our attention to the efforts to create a statue in his honour.

Royal Rumble 1988 Part 1

It's time for the television debut of the Royal Rumble on the USA Network. While we were deprived of this channel as kids and forced to wait quite a while to finally see the card it is a pivotal night for the wrestling business. On this episode we focus on the first half of the card. A battle of the Rick's as the Dragon takes on the Ravishing One, Bravo tries to set a World Bench Press record & the Women's Tag Team Titles are up for grabs in a best 2 out of 3 falls match that just might steal the show. We close out this week with a fantasy re-imagining of the first ever house show Royal Rumble in St Louis from October 1987. Since that match was botched in reality we give it a new coat of paint.

The wrap up of our January 1988 show is serving up some fun action including some new Bees in an 8-man tag match, Billy Jerk & Patera face some of Heenan's men, a new wrestler is on the scene and he's bringing Bad News to the WWF. The show wraps up with a wild tag match. It's an early sighting of the Mega Powers as Hogan and Savage take on the Honky Tonk Man & the Hart Foundation.

UWF Heavyweight Tournament, May 30th, 1986

The show we've been waiting a long time to do is finally here! Bill Watts makes a return and is walking tall vs Eddie Gilbert and the Russians, the Sheepherders and their flag bearer brawl in a wild barbwire cage match vs the Fantastics and Terry Taylor. But the meat of the show is the one night 16-man tournament to crown the first ever UWF Heavyweight champion. We don't have all the footage but what we see is highly entertaining; there's great action and plenty of blood by the time it is all over. Pro Wrestling Illustrated comes to life as the "4th" World Championship arrives now!
